ローマ 5:8 しかし私たちがまだ罪人であったとき、キリストが私たちの為に死んでくださった ことにより、神は私たちにたいする御自身の愛をあきらかにしておられます。
何もかもがうまくいっていないシナリオを想像してみてください。人からは誤解され、罵倒をあびたり、仕事を失ったり・・・・。「神さま、こんな状況の中でも、あなたは私を愛しているって言うんですか？なら、どうしてこんなことが起こるのだ？」と怒りと嘆きが込み上げてくるでしょう。
でも、神さまの私たち一人人への愛は、決して、私たちがおかれている状況に基づいて、判断すべきではないということを、知って下さい。十字架を見てください！ 神さまは十字架によって、私たち一人ひとりへの愛をあきらかにされました。
私たちがまだ罪人だったときに、「神なんていらない！」「神なんかどうでもいい！」という最中にも、キリストが私たちの為に死んでくださり、十字架によって、神さまは私たちへの愛を示されました。
ある十代後半の女性は、神さまの彼女への深い愛が、十字架において示されている事を経験しました。彼女は人生のある時点で、愛の無い、混乱した生活から抜け出る道はただ一つ、自殺することだと考えていました。彼女は錠剤を致命的な量のアルコールといっしょに飲むつもりでした。すべて死ぬ用意をしたあと、彼女はあてもなくインターネット上のＭＰ３のリストをクリックし出しました。そして、彼女がスクリーン上の沢山の曲の中から、クリックしたのは、キリストの十字架の愛を歌う美しい曲でした。
自分の人生を見て、神さまは本当に自分を愛しているのだろうかと、疑問に思っているなら、十字架を見つめて、御子イエスの広げた両手を見てください。それは、神さまがどんなにあなたを愛しているかを思い起こさせ、あなたを安心させるでしょう。

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Would you imagine the scenario that everything goes wrong? People misunderstand you, abuse you and you lose your job etc. “God, are you saying that you love me in these situations? Then how come all these things are happening to me?” Anger and grief will well up.
Please know that we must never judge God’s love for each one of us based on our circumstances. Instead look at the cross! The cross is the sure evidence of God’s love for each one of us.
In that while we are still sinners, saying “we do not need God”, “we don’t want to have anything to do with God!”, Christ died for us. It is at the cross that God demonstrated His own love toward us.
A teenager learnt that the cross indeed spoke of how much God loves her. At one point in her life, she was contemplating suicide as the only way out of her problems of her life. She had intended to take some tablets with a bottle of alcohol. She was all ready to die when she started clicking aimlessly on some MP3 songs in her computer. And she picked a beautiful song about the cross of Christ out of all the songs that were on her screen.
When you look at your life and find yourself wondering if God really loves me, look to the cross and see the Son of God’s outstretched arms. It will remind and reassure you of how much He loves you!
