１ヨハネ 4:10 私達が神を愛したのではなく、神が私達を愛し、私たちの罪の為に、なだめの供え物としての 御子を使わされました。これが愛です。（直訳）
神さまに従おうとして、全力を尽くして神さまを愛そうとしても、惨めに失敗するだけです。自分の従順に軸を置き焦点を合わせているかぎり、「できない自分」に挫折と罪責感にかられるか、「できる自分」で傲慢に陥ってしまいます。
聖書から愛の定義をみてみましょう。「. . . 私達が神を愛したのではなく、神が私たちを愛し・・・ これが愛です。（直訳） 」
そうです、それは神さまへの私たちの愛や従順ではなく、神さまの私たちへの愛です！
どれほど神さまが私達を愛されているかを知ることで、神さまを愛し返すことができるのです。
私自身、料理などの家事があまり好きではないです。めんどいです。でも日本社会で不当な扱いをされたりしても愚痴も言わずに、家計を支えている主人の犠牲を知るとき、私自身いやいやながらでなく、喜んで家事もできるのです。家族への愛があるから主人は耐えれるのです。主人の愛と犠牲に応答するようにして、私も彼を心から愛しています。そして喜んで料理もできるのです。（美味しいかどうかは別ですが・・・）
私たちはただ神さまの前に静かに座り、神さまの愛を受けるのです。神さまの愛は、私たちによらず、神御自身によります。ですから、あなたが私が誰なのか、又、何をしたかに関係なく、私たちを無条件に愛されます。
イエスの犠牲の大きさを知れば知るほどに、神さまの愛を受け入れば受け入れるほど、私たちは神さまをもっともっと愛するようになります！そうなってしまうのです。
だから、リラックスして、どれほど神さまがあなたのことを愛しているか心に留めてください。
1 John 4:10
In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
Even if we try our best to love God with all our might, it will only fail miserably. As long as we focus on our obedience, we become frustrated and guilty with a sense of "we can't", or we become arrogant with a sence of "we can".
Let's see the definition of love from the Bible. "...this is love, not that we loved God,....He loved us..."
Yes! It is not our love or obedience to God, but God's love to us.
We can love back God by knowing how much God loves us.
I myself do not like household chores such as cooking so much. it is a troublesome for me. But when I know the sacrifice of my husband who supports his family without saying any complaints even though treated unfairly in the Japanese society, I can do housework happily for him. My husband can endure unfair treatments because of his love to his family. I also love him from the bottom of my heart as responding to his love and his sacrifice. So I am willing to do cooking for him. (it is a different story whether it is delicious or not...)
In the same way, we just sit quietly before God and receive His love. The love of God depends on Himself, not on us. Therefore, God loves us unconditionally regardless of who we are and what we did.
The more we know the greatness of Jesus' sacrifice, the more we accept God's love, we will be able to love God much more! It will become so naturally.
So please relax and know how deeply God loves you.
Jesus loves you so much.
